What should I initially expect?
1. We initially have a “discovery” meeting. This is a good time for us to get
to know each other and see if we are a good fit for working together.
2. If you decide to hire us, we will meet again to complete MFA's Client
Profile. When completing the Client Profile, we will review your goals and
objectives, risk tolerance, and financial data. We will also exchange some
documentation, including account applications and contracts. The Client
Profile will be used to develop your Investment Policy Statement.
3. We will open an account for you at Fidelity Investments and implement
your Investment Policy. You will receive monthly statements on your
account, have the ability to check your account online, and receive quarterly
performance updates.
What types of ongoing services should I expect?
1. We will meet regularly to review your financial situation, making sure your
portfolio is congruent with your goals.
2. We will provide continuous and ongoing monitoring of your portfolio.
3. We will provide ongoing, objective advice when you need it.
4. We will respond to and resolve any inquiries, requests, or concerns in a
very timely manner.
How do you help me invest my money?
We follow an investment management process when helping you develop
your portfolio.
We start by reviewing:
1. Your goals and objectives. This is the starting point. We will try to
determine why you invest your money, and what it will ultimately be used
for.
2. Your risk tolerance and finances. All portfolios go up and down. We will do
our best to ascertain how much fluctuation of your portfolio you can
“stomach.” We will also discuss your assets and liabilities.
3. Valuations of various asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate,
commodities, etc). We monitor various asset classes to determine areas of
value. This generally results in our recommendation to overweight or
underweight various asset classes based on both your situation and
expected returns from the markets.
We then implement your portfolio with low cost solutions such as exchange-
traded funds and institutional class mutual funds, when available and
appropriate. McGinley Financial Advisory is dedicated to helping you keep
investment costs as low as possible.
This process is one that is ongoing. We are committed to continually
reviewing the investment management process with you.
What is your fee schedule?

have no incentive to sell you any specific types of products.
Do you require minimum investment amounts?
We do require account minimums for our Investment Management service.
The minimum investment advisory relationship is $250,000.
But I don't have that much to invest. Can you still help me?
Yes, we do offer a financial planning service for individuals with under

What is the difference between a Registered Investment Advisor and a
broker?
A Registered Investment Advisor firm is one that is required to uphold the
standards of being a fiduciary. This is a relationship which requires the
advisor to act in the best interest of the client. An RIA charges a fee for
advice rendered to the client.
A brokerage firm is a company that manufactures investment products and
sells them to the investing public. A brokerage firm is held to the suitability
standard. An investment must be suitable. Brokerage firms are not held to
the fiduciary standard. Any advice given to the client is considered
“incidental” to the buying or selling of securities.
What other ways can you help me?
McGinley Financial Advisory provides ongoing financial planning and
investment advice to clients. We can assist you with life insurance, estate
planning, tax strategies, college savings, and other areas of concern. Of
course, we will always do our best to help you solve any problems, simplify
your financial affairs, reduce anxiety, and meet your goals.
If a need of yours is outside our area of expertise, we will coordinate an
introduction to competent professionals who can help you.
